I love this song, but at the same time I dislike it. ‘Its not easy to be me’? Its not easy to be ANYBODY, you know?
On the other hand, Five for Fighting is amazing. :] -

It’s called irony, they are singing about Superman the superhero, you would think his life would be easy because he has super powers.

yeh only his life his harder he has to sacrafice everythin he could have to keep a secret.. so peeps make fun of him caz he acts wierd and he manages to keep it in .. so yeh is life is harder then the rest

I think he is talking about Superman but I think he is also talking about other people, too. I believe that he is reflecting on the fact that even people who seem to have perfect lives have hidden troubles. And also, to be constantly looked up to and expected to be perfect is so hard. Many of my friends look up to me and expect me to do everything right. It’s so terribly hard!
